‘Java Heat’ in Jogja

gain, a movie directed by a famous director, Conor Allyn, was made in Indonesia. He has produced some works such as Merah Putih, and Heart of Freedom. His new movie entitles Java Heat. It 100% takes the location in Special Region of Yogyakarta. It takes many locations such as TuguYogya a monument, Keraton a palace of Yogyakarta, Borobudur temple, etc. Production process was completed in two months.

            Java Heat is a thriller action movie. It is starred by well known local as well foreign artist. This time a Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, becomes a main actor and Mickey Rouke an antagonist character. Indonesian artists such as Atiqah Hasiholan, Ario Bayu, Rio Dewanto,Tio Pakusodewo, UliAuliani, and a senior actor Frans Tumbuan also played in this Hollywood movie.

            This action American produced movie begins when Kellan Lutz acts as Jake Travers. He is arrested by a Moslem police named Hasyim (Ario Bayu) and his friends Anton (Rio Dewanto). Jake is arrested as a witness bomb incident in Keraton (Sultan’s palace) area. He is arrested by Hasyim because he is the only one foreigner in that incident. That moment kills Sultana (Atiqah Hasiholan) a princess of Ngayogyakarta Palace. It is truly hard case handled by General (Frans Tumbuan). He is Hasyim’s boss. Hasyim’s boss commands Liutenant Hasyim to finish this case as soon as possible.

            In the meantime, Sultana does not die yet. Her position is replaced by Pasar Kembang prostitute. She is Rani’s sister (UliAuliani).She visits Thailand to face surgery. She changes her face like Sultana. Jake knows the truth that Sultana is still alive. He keeps the truth for himself. Nobody knows the truth.

            The man behind the bomb is Malik (Mickey Rouke). Malik is a notorious robber eyeing antique stuff. He visits South East Asia to get antique commodity. His main target is Sultana’s necklace. Because of that, he plans a bombing at Keraton (Sultan’s Palace of Yogyakarta). Malik not only robs Sultana’s necklace but also kidnap the princess.

            When interview time, Jake admits to Hasyim that he is an FBI agent. He is spying a crook in Yogya. Hasyim does not trust him because he finds Jake’s necklace. Obviously, Jake is an ex soldier in US Marine. Jake lying is far away. In the beginning Hasyim hates him. But, Jake has information about Malik. Consequently, Hasyim cooperates with Jake to solve this case.  One night, Jake and Hasyim go to observe the case by police patrol car. Suddenly, their car is hit by a group of Moslem terrorist. They shoot directly to Hasyim’s car. Hasyim is injured seriously.  Luckily, Jake chases the terrorist away with his gun. Therefore, Hasyim suspects that there is another person or group involve behind Malik.

            Furthermore, Malik cooperates with Achmed (Mike Lucock), a Moslem terrorist. Both of them make MOU. They help each other. Malik uses their power to get Sultana’s necklace while Achmed gets fund and some weapons from Malik.  Consequently, Achmed the leader of the terrorist group should obey to Malik. Sometime, Achmed hates him because Malik often rapes some boys. He is homo. Achmed incidentally sees that ill mannered behavior.

            Malik detects there are somebody involves to break his plan. They are Hasyim and Jake. He plans to kill both of them. One day, Jake and Hasyim stay at the hotel. Suddenly, they are attacked by Malik. Malik does not stop to annoy them. He abducts Hasyim’s family.

            Knowing his beloved family is abducted, Hasyim does something to save them. He cooperates with Jack to fail Malik’s plan. Both of them try to save Sultana and Hasyim family. They ask help to Sultan as a king of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. But it doesn’t work because abdi dalem servant of Keraton (Tyo Pakusodewo) conspires with Malik.

            Automatically, Sultana and Hasyim’s family become Malik’s prisoner. They go to Borobudur temple for making agreement with Hasyim. Knowing that, Hasyim try to make negotiation with Malik. It is useless. They are shooting each other. The situation becomes hard a lot. Malik is shot by Jack. He died. Finally, all of Malik’s gang including abdi dalem and the terorist are arrested by police. Sultana and her necklace are safe.

            Watching movie becomes one of alternative to fill up your holiday. You can watch it at cinema or rent some DVD movie at shop. Besides it is cheap, you can invite your friends to join. Anyhow, holiday doesn’t need much money. Don’t forget to watch Java Heat. It is a Hollywood movie in Jogja nuance. So, happy holiday guys.
